This is my last point! Also it has been mentioned several times in the forum that cholesterol is a major component of the brain and it is further implied from this that this is why we need a lot of it. However some will agree that protein is required in quite small amounts compared to what the masse...

The metabolism of the sex hormones is interwined with that of cholesterol, and also with that of neurotransmitters (particularly serotonin), so that as adults our 'cholesterol requirements' very much differ; especially women tend to thrive on extra cholesterol. Just to expand slightly, this is why ...

OK, thank you very much for detailed reply. I guess I am very interested in cholesterol specifically since this is the only thing, in my opinion, that we need from animals (I personally feel comfortable with the fact that B12 is produced sufficiently by bacteria lining intestinal tract). My superfic...

Hi Mesay, I don't have an answer to your question but I am also interested in vitamin B12 because it is one of the strongest arguments used to support animal product consumption. This is a really interesting article stating the case against vitamin B12 supplementation: http://www.roylretreat.com/art...

Well, its a known fact that people on a normal diet have a plague in their colon; Do you know how long this "plague" lasts after going on the Wai diet? Wait a second, do we mean 'plaque' as in a thick unpleasant coating, not 'plague' as in bubonic and pneumonic? [quote I haven't noticed any differe...

1 large egg yolk weighs about 17gr. That means 1 large yolk contains 210mg, or 1234mg per 100gr. Thanks. The recommended 300mg per day only applies to cooked cholesterol. Look also here: http://www.waidiet.com/nutrients/cholesterol.html I'm not worried about the amount of cholesterol in eggs the wa...

Fresh mackerel is enjoyable - personally one of my favorites. But after a few days, it begins to go 'off' and acquires a strong taste and odor. I'm completely converted! I have been buying pre-filleted, fresh mackerel and it is really good. It is tasty, it comes in fresh everyday and it is such goo...

Re: Nut protein digestibility
OK, I see. How come nuts are digested more slowly, is it the fat content?RRM wrote:animal food is much more rapidly digested; more protein to be handled per time unit. The nuts are digested much more slowly, so that much less protein per time unit needs to be processed

Nut protein digestibility (in comparison to animal protein)
For acne sufferers, why does the mandatory 1.5 hrs wait before moving around, only apply after animal protein consumption? (for acne sufferers) Is the nut protein just much more easily digested?

Brazil nuts are advocated here becuase they contain very much methionine, which is relatively lacking in virtually all other foods, so that if you eat little animal food, the methionine from Brazil nuts very effectively 'upgrades' the protein (from fruits and animal food) already consumed; an upgra...

Diet is important, but proper workout is almost as important (well, not regarding acne, but health in general) Running doesn't make me feel better or healthier; it just gives me a feeling of using my body, that's all. How active are you Oscar? Not regarding strenuous exercise necessarily but I mean...
