Fasting for Acne / blood protein / kwashiorkor / edema

You guys might remember my diary/posts from a few months ago. With time my acne did improve with the Wai diet, but never closed to stopped. About a month ago, dropped the diet all together. After dropping the diet, my acne got *slightly* worse, but never to its original state. I'm currently on accut...

Thanks. I'm still on the wai diet, mainly as a matter of pride (Don't want everyone saying "I knew you wouldn't last long"). It's no longer really a big deal. Although, there are times that it's hard. But yes, you're very right. And yeah, it's extremely hard to hear people tell you that there are _p...

Yes, fictor is right. It's only on my back, and frankly it's (in my view) indistinguishable from acne, and did say that acutane would (temporarily) clear it, so it's obviously related in some way. As for the diet, it definitely seems to be helping - but nothing like I hoped. I've had "much" foods. F...

I went to the dermatologist (a different one). She was extremely good. She looked at my back and told me that it wasn't acne but something else (I forgot now, but some other skin condition). And looked very closely at my skin and said I won't have any scarring so there is no rush. Then she went on t...

Thanks guys. Things have got better. I'd say my face is noticeably better than when I started. Not exactly as good as I was hoping for, but worth it (if things continue to get better). I tried a few dermatologists, one was booking for February!! But in the end, I found one that has a opening really ...

Thanks. It's actually getting a little better. Significant less redness. Let's hope it continues.

Been 10 days or so. I won't say my skin is significantly worse, but it is worse. I'm giving the diet 3 more days before I make a dermatologist appointment. And if I don't get an accutane script, I'll buy it online. I'll try stay on the diet as long as possible, but I get no enjoyment from it - and u...

Thanks guys. I think it's almost a week now. I haven't been eating any juice, or even nuts. If I have been unsure, I've avoided it. The most I've deviated from the diet is on day 2 or 3, I accidentally put a fish oil (gelatin) capsule in my mouth, but as soon as I realized I spat it out. Anyway, my ...

Day 5 down, 25 to go Hi Brazilnuts, thanks for reading. I've started this, and I will finish it. 25 more days to go. Telling my family was the point of no return. :) When I said I will make a derm appointment, it wouldn't be for a month down the track (I can't get an instant appointment). And if th...

Progress: Wow. My acne is slightly worse. I guess this could be the pores cleaning themselves, but it sure doesn't help my motivation when trying such a hard diet. I'm thinking of making an appointment with the derm and telling him that I'm an adult and if I don't walk out with a accutane script in...

Thanks Brazilnuts. 4 days down. 26 to go I was kind of feeling down, as I've had no progress to speak off and realized how much our lives revolve around food. But your post really cheered me up. I really appreciate the kindness. My cellphone can do that though, so I will use it, sounds like a good i...

3 days down. 27 to go Not really much to add. I'm feeling low on energy, and about 3kg lighter than when I started. But I'm assuming that will stabilize, as there is approximately 7,000 calories in a kilo of fat. And my body is probably burning around 1,800 a day. So absolute worst case, I've lost ...

Thanks for the kind words. Although, I can't take myself seriously while trying to guilt trip them. As I know they're trying to do what they see is best for me. But I will continue the diet, even though there's a (no doubt) absolutely delicious home made pizza as left overs. But honestly, there's no...

I'm sorry to hear you had to have an operation and get the pouch. It can't have been easy for you to cope with that change, especially at such a young age. I honestly think it's easier at a young age. The body and mind adapts well. Physically I've adapted to the pouch more than they said an adult c...

Day 2 down. 28 to go I had a few 10 minute lecturers on why I'm going to get sick. And nutritional deficits, and how my hair will fall out etc. But I held my own, they couldn't name anything I was missing out on. Glad they didn't say calcium, lol. Oh well, I held up pretty well (if I can say so) in...
