Ikara (salmon egg)

Post by dandate2 »

Well I just had my first 100% wai meal in a few weeks, I had been eating soy sauce at every fish meal and now feel totally different. Today I had ikara for the first time and it tasted kind of salty. is that ok?

It may have been salted, as a preservative, as salmon eggs go bad very rapidly.
They may also be fake eggs, which are not on the diet, of course.
Try to find out which one is true, in your case.

Yes, imitation salmon eggs.
Like Surimi (as in fake crab), made from fish meal (pollock or hake), starch, egg white, soy protein, oil, sorbitol, sugar, herbs and taste enhancers)
Its texture is rubbery.
