That was an error. Initially we though that freezing had to have a bad effect too (and we therefore speculated about HCAs formed), as it affected acne, but later on we discovered that it affected acne due to the salt added to the frozen fish (raw herring).
So, no, if it is frozen only, and not treated in any other way, then its safe regarding acne.
However, regarding judging the freshness of fish, freezing is detrimental, as then we can no longer judge its freshness when no longer frozen. Also, previously frozen fish tastes watery.

Ah, that was VERY good news! I get seemingly very good quality,
non hatchery fresh fish at my local store, but feel I need to
freeze it at home, due to the risk of parasites. I know
one can check for them, but I really do not want to take
the risk.
Splendid! I will add fresh-frozen fish to my diet.
Any thoughts on the method for preparing that is posted
somewhere on this forum? The one where you cover the
fish in lime juice and herb (I will use chives) for two
days. It sounds OK to me...

Then you need to do real deep-freezing. I forgot at what temperature, but i think it was something like minus 20 degrees celcius for 48 hours.fictor wrote:...feel I need to freeze it at home, due to the risk of parasites.
You can look it up.
Regarding tuna there is no risk of parasites though.
It IS allowed.Christina wrote:I always cover my tuna with lemon juice and leave it out over night. Then I eat it with cucumber and avocado, oo. That mix is maybe not allowed on the strict sample plan.
Yes, that might very well be the case. I dont have comparative data about that though.MJ wrote:Though freezing itself doesn't cause acne and doesn't produce cancerous byproducts, I read somewhere that is still negatively alters nutrients such as protein quality. Is that true?
