sugar intake, high sebum production?
Sugar (white sugar, honey, candy), will this cause excessive sebum production? Because I remember some reading point out that refined sugar will cause high sebum production, or maybe it's a mistake?
Re: sugar intake, high sebum production?
Wai has mentioned this and I also read a study from pubmed which says that those who consume less sugar, more fat do have a lower testosterone level (not by much though), thus a lower sebum production. Testosterone enhances sebum production and having sufficient sugars in your blood increases/promotes a higher testosterone level.
With this diet, your main source of energy is sugar and keeping a steady flow of glucose is an important aspect of this diet, so I would say that this diet promotes an increased testosterone. To what effect this has on us is probably individually different. I'm not sure as to why exactly sugar effects the testosterone level.
