heating coconut oil
gets all clumpy during the winter. is it ok to heat it?
From what I've heard, as far as coconut oil is concerned, even hot coconut oil isn't damaged like 'cooking' damages other oils and foods.

So even heating it a little more than 'warm' should be okay, no?

Just a thought...
Is there a warmer thingy, like using a crock pot( bottle inside) or something that could stay on low, for the winter months to keep the oil liquid? Like leaving it in the oven with the light on? Shouldn't be too hard to build something with a bulb that would heat the oil for such needs.

Cooking will certainly damage some fats in coconut oil, but yes, the fats in coconut oil are less susceptible to heat than other fats.avalon wrote:as far as coconut oil is concerned, even hot coconut oil isn't damaged like 'cooking' damages other oils and foods. ...
