Nut protein digestibility (in comparison to animal protein)

Post by jfk »

For acne sufferers, why does the mandatory 1.5 hrs wait before moving around, only apply after animal protein consumption? (for acne sufferers) Is the nut protein just much more easily digested?

No, its because the animal food is much more rapidly digested; more protein to be handled per time unit. The nuts are digested much more slowly, so that much less protein per time unit needs to be processed; more comparable to the that from fruits.
The more protein needs to be processed / taken up (per time unit), the more readily that can go wrong / incomplete due to the need for blood and energy in your muscles.

OK, I see. How come nuts are digested more slowly, is it the fat content?

Yes, the fat to some extend, but mostly the fiber (7%) and antinutrients (which are absent in meat)

RRM: So this means that the 1,5 hours of doing nothing much
would not apply if one where to cut the once a day animal food meal into
several very small portions a day? Like blending egg yolks in OJ
and sip in intervals throughout the day?

Yes, but only if its a small amount of protein and the protein is very much dilluted, as when you take it with oj.
Like blending egg yolks in OJ
You cannot use the blender; blending yolks makes me break out (even blending just fruits)
and sip in intervals throughout the day?
The yolks dont last; you cannot make it first and sip from it throughout the day. What you make, you need to consume immediately.

RRM: By 'blending' the eggyolks and OJ, I meant to simply mix the two, not
using a blender.

So egg yolks in orange juice would not stay fresh even one day?

No, its the shell that keeps the bacteria etc away. The liquid egg yolk is extremely susceptible.
