Just want to make sure I'm reading right.
Almonds are not something ideal to eat?
Arn't they nuts? The book says they inhibit serotonin production.
I was under the assumption that nuts in general where good.
almonds are not ok?

Hi John,
I personally don't seem to have a problem eating almonds, mood-wise, though I don't doubt Wai's advice that they are not optimal foods for serotonin composition - perhaps I am just eating plenty of foods that ARE optimal, and I therefore don't notice any 'downswings' when I eat almonds. The only thing I (and many others) have to watch out for is that I shell the nuts myself and eat them very FRESH. Otherwise they are bound to have been shelled in a factory that uses either heat or freezing cold to crack the nuts, which denatures the protein and can cause acne and cellulite. As with most things on this diet, you need to experiment and see what works for you... but if you are concerned with securing an almost-perfect source of protein and essential fats, then brazil nuts are definitely tops!
