Need some help.. OJ recipe, nuts, getting all nutrients

Post by seven »

Hi all!

I was on this kick ass diet some months ago..for two weeks. But now Im giving it another shot.

My problem is I cant find the recepie for the OJ. Ive been searching everywhere but I cant find it anymore. Since I started yesterday Ive been using 6 TS sugar and 2 TS olive oil for every litre orange juice. I dunno how correct that is.

Also, these 2 days Ive basicly not eaten anything at all. Ive been drinking 2 litre OJ a day, an egg yolk a day and maybe 60g brazil nuts a day.
Im gooing to increase the number of egg yolks but I dont know how much vegetables to eat. Any suggestions?

seven,

If I were you I wouldn't bother with the brazil nuts as in some people they can cause breakouts. This is because they might not be totally fresh and thus a waste of money on a 50/50 chance.

You should start adding other fruits like banana's, which are cheap.
For the sugar to fat ratio, it is advised that for every 2 grams of sugar you need one gram of fat.

In some a little more sugar is needed, but try that out. I found that adding that much sugar (6 tbsp) is way too much for me.

ok, I'll start using to 5 tbsp sugar and 3 tbsp oil then. Since its sugar in the oranges aswell. (right?)

The brazil nuts worked fine last time, I was clearing up real good.

What about vegetables? I kinda know what vegetables to eat, but not how much.

If you have no problem with Brazil nuts then eat them.

Look on the front page and read the no more acne link.
This gives you all the info and then some.

You don't need to eat any vegetables, just fruits, egg yolks/fish, olive oil. I use about 6-8 teaspoons sugar per liter OJ, if that helps. Like Nick said, eat some more fruits, also avocado and/or tomato and/or cucumber.

No.
Just make sure your diet supplies you with all the nutrients by submitting it to the nutrient calculator then you add the foods you need to get what your missing/lacking.

Good Luck.

Dont worry, you dont lack.
First of all, particularly the USDA generally does not list data for quite a lot minerals, trace elements and also vitamin K, for example.
So, you think that you lack:
Vitamin K....................................19.68000mcg ........70.00mcg
Iodide, I........................................0.00210mg ............0.15mg
But you dont; because of the "missing items".
the missing items in these cases are:
missing items:1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
missing items:1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10
This means that only the amount of vitamin K in tomatoes is calculated, and for iodide only the amount present in tomatoes, figs and Brazil nuts.
The data from Souci is more complete:
Vitamin K.....................................254.85590mcg ........70.00mcg
Iodide, I.......................................0.03343mg ..........0.15mg
But still, data is missing:
missing items:2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
missing items:2, 5, 7, 8, 10
If only the data from Souci regarding iodide in mackerel had been listed in our calculator (Oscar is working on that!), it would already have made a big difference, as mackerel alone already contains 0.0490 mg iodide per 100 gram. And we simply dont know how iodide there is in avocado, apricot and plums...
If we then also know that the recommendations for iodide are far greater than our actual need for iodide, you get a very different picture, which brings me to the next point:

The second row are recommendations, not requirements.
The best example is calcium; in countries where they consume 300 to 500 mg calcium, osteoporosis rates are by far the lowest, and everybody ingests enough calcium to grow adult bones. The calcium recommendations is purely based on assumptions that our bones will last longer if we take more calcium (than we need).
What we need is 300 mg to 500 mg max.
What they recommend is 1200 mg. Hence the 'lack'.
Calcium, Ca................................890.38999mg .......1200.00mg

Recommendations in general are much higher than your biological needs. This 'to make sure'. But fact is that our body very efficiently can increase uptake ratios (up to ten-fold!!!) of zinc for example, when required. Most uptake levels are very low, because our body doesnt want to take up too much of any metal/mineral, as that is very harmful (see http://www.3.waisays.com )
In the meantime, recommendations are only increased, assuming that this may be safer.
In The Netherlands, the recommendations for zinc used to be 5 to 10 mg.
The recommendations for zinc vitamin B3 used to be 8 mg.
So that here is no issue of a lack either:
Zinc, Zn.........................................8.84271mg ..........15.00mg
Vitamin B3, Niacin,.......................14.61547mg ..........19.00mg

Just curious: are the missing data going to be added :?: I would like to see for zinc, iodide, Vitamin K.

The missing date are not 'our omission'; they have simply not been measured yet. When they are known, of course we will add them to the calculator...
