If I go to a vegetarian website they say vegetarians live longer... If I go to a non vegetarian dietary web site that promotes eating meat, they say vegetarians have shorter life spans.
Does anyone have any links or references to some reliable statistics that deal with lifespans of people that follow different diets?
Maybe I should not worry about this. I believe it is best to include animal foods, the reason I am looking for this info is not for me but for people I come in contact with. I feel like many people are mislead and simply want to help people learn. I met a lady in a book store the other day in the nutrition area. She was a clinical nutritionist, telling me how vegans live longer. I disagreed. maybe I just need to learn to disagree. If someone believes something that is wrong it would be great to show them other wise. I mean I am grateful when someone takes the time to correct me.

Yeah, I've read that vegetarians live longer, but not by much. And there may be no such thing as proof as statistics change. Some vegetarians eat crap junk food, some however, don't. A roommate of mine was vegetarian and she ate chocolate cake and french fries all the time. I don't think I put the two together then.
