Re: strep
Hi 12345,
where is your Strep infection? I assume in the throat?
As long as your immune system has to fight a significant infection, you should reckon with a somewhat compromised immune status against other invaders. Meaning that you might be more susceptible than usual. Under these circumstances, I would be more cautious with raw animal products. Under (appropriate) antibiotic therapy, however, it should be safe enough to eat raw yolks, fish or meat.

Im sorry for this very late response...
You do not need antibiotics to overcome a strep infection, unless your defense is seriously compromized.12345 wrote:I just got a strep culture and if i do need to take antibiotics, can I still stay on the diet? Can I eat raw egg yolks?

Actually, antibiotics weaken your defense, making you more susceptible to infection. This means that eating a heavily infested food (eg salmonella) might then put you at danger.
Never use antibiotics, unless you have no choice (as in a life threatening situation).
Re: strep
Not to worry.
I did take the antibiotics and the strep is gone, thank G-d. I took a break from raw eggs, how long do I have to wait to get back on? Is two days enough?

Re: strep
Hard to say. How did you originally start on egg yolks?
Re: strep
Started with a teaspoon of egg yolk for two days, then one egg yolk for two days, then two egg yolks a day.
Re: strep
Then start with a teaspoon for 3 days, if everything goes well then half a yolk, after another 3 days 1 yolk, etc.
Re: strep
Hot water not at all.
Tea a little, depending on how susceptible you are and on how much you drink of course.
