what to put on my skin: YES OR NO?

Make up, cream, skin issues, dental issues, dental hygiene, shampoo, dandruff...

Nothing. I never get burned, even when waiting on tabels outside
in the sun, because I dont stay there.
Whats your view on the age old use of aloe vera? when would it be useful - it really helped my sun burn one year when I was young.
Exactly, its a medication.

Of course we don't know what state is optimal for the human body. Maybe in an optimal state (several generations of healthy food?) we can handle sunlight more easily than we can in our optimal state now. Even now I'm not so sure we have to avoid the sun, other than avoid excessive exposure.

Thats quite a good point to make Oscar, excess sun is the main problem. This problem is made worse by our current limitation of genes and diet.

I watched a BBC 1 tv study on a women who went in the sun and sun bed daily for one month and had her skin tested for skin damage. A few months later did the same but this time she had to eat a given ammount of tomatos each day giving lycopene. The damage with tomatos was significantly reduced, almost minimal damage.

Interesting. Was it a scientific experiment?

Yes, i heard about that.
I noticed myself that when eating a lot of tomatoes, i readily get a tan
even when avoiding sun exposure as much as possible.
And no light burns whatsoever.

Im always amazed at how in this world there is a balance. Like Eskimos who need vitamin d...not much sun up there but plenty in the fish they eat! Also tomatoes are flowered all over sunny places such as spain.

Yes, nature seems far superior compared to our own 'intelligent design' work.
We are good at details, but a bit stupid regarding the bigger picture.

Speaking of accelerated aging, does poor posture lead to it too? If I hunch my back for a prolonged period of time, my back muscles will feel sore or achy. Does that lead to accelerated aging?

@kooka
no it will not accelerate aging in any measurable term for us to percieve, but it is going to diminish your quality of life because it leads to all kinds of problems like uncomfortableness, sore joints, back pain, poor posture, and an overall decreased everything in your body. even breathing and eyesight are impaired a little by improper use of your body like through posture, but it's pretty tiny with the eyesight unless you're blind like me already :)

anyway, one could argue that subtracting from your quality of life is subtracting from your lifespan because you have less enjoyable lifespan even if the same amount.. face it, would you want to live 1000 years in sheer pain or 1 year in bliss? time isnt the important thing by itself it's how you feel plus time!

Yes, less insulin secretion, and less damage by oxidative radicals.
and any outside 'renewel' is deemed as an age accelerator? Like excess sun exsposure?
Yes, any cream or drug that stimulates cell renewal, accelerates aging of those cells.
And yes, sun exposure accelerates aging of the skin..
But we need some sun exposure too. Getting at least some colors for the skin is bad? Or only the deep tanning is concerned?
Do tomatoes slow down cell renewal too (when exposed to the sun)?

Is it the same with hair? Using a shampoo full of vitamins will accelerate the renewal of something?

Is there a list of the oils the with highest vitamin E content to the lowest?

We only need exposure to daylight, even if its always cloudy.
We dont need direct sunlight exposure.

You always get some color.
Just trust your body;
in general, our body doesnt like long sunlight exposure;
you tend to want to get out of the sun after a while.
Its only that we want this tan that we force ourselves to stay in the sun.
We shouldnt.

no, they just stimulate the pigmentation response.
Is it the same with hair? Using a shampoo full of vitamins will accelerate the renewal of something?
Only if its really too much.

Yes, somewhere in the oil section, i think.

We dont need direct sunlight exposure.
But in the wild we surely get direct exposure.
And what about African people? Their skin will age faster than us?
Only if its really too much.
Regarding the hair itself or the skull? Because hair is like a dead body.
