Re: Pale Skin
But it doesnt have to be from beta carotene I woud say. I drink 2L of orange juice daily lately and sometimes carrots, but nobody ever told me that I have an unhealthy orange color or something.
Re: Pale Skin
That's a thing I am afraid of: if it is not due to beta carotene. What if am I anemic? Or what if I have a problem that I don't know?Kasper wrote:But it doesnt have to be from beta carotene I woud say. On my blood tests I had low erythrocytes and macrocytosis. I still want to know how to reverse those.

"From there they are transported in the plasma into the peripheral tissues. Carotenoids are eliminated via sweat, sebum, urine, and gastrointestinal secretions."
Well, I don't sweat; the sebum on my body may be minimum also; it only remains urine and feces to get rid off them.
"Liver dysfunction, regardless of origin, causes hypercarotenemia as a result of the impaired conversion of carotenoids to retinol."
Well, about this, I don't know...
