Tea Tree Oil

Howdy.

So I am under the impression that topical application of Tea Tree Oil is frowned upon by the 'Wai Way'.

My question is why? What's wrong with it? Surely is cannot actually CAUSE acne, whist being used by so many people to improve their skin!?

I'm confused. Please advise.

Because it promotes shedding of the skin. Thats is also why it is used by acne patients; it increases the speed of shedding and recovery. The downside of this is that this accelerates aging of the skin, and that is why we advice against it.
