Questions about skin, hair and teeth

Post by fictor »

I understand that I could spread my questions out in existing threads, but
as I would like to get it all answered at once, I thought making a new thread
collecting my questions was a good idea. Here goes..

Skin:

Does it matter if products I use on my lips, in my hair, on my feet,
under my arms (you know, places one does not get acne) contains
things like vitamin E, aloe vera, salts, mineral oil and so on?
I mean, these products does not come in contact with where I have
acne (face, back and chest).

Can I use a natural soap, like 'Aleppo soap' or 'Dr Bonners'
on my face? They contains vitamin E, but I understand this does
not cause acne, but speeds the aging (strange, many 'anti ageing'
products contains this)

What about on the rest of my body? Can I use soap there?

Can I use shampoo from a health food store, with
only natural ingredients? What about hair conditioner
with only natural ingredients?

Can I use skin care products form only natural oils
and essential oils? (some of them contains vitamin E)

Almond oil with essential oils of pot marigold and
chamomile?

I hope you can answer some of these questions.
Thanks! :)

Oops, I forgot some! Here goes..

Why is toothpaste not recommended?
(I use a natural one from a health food store)

What about mouthwash? I am talking about
an organic type of mouthwash
(from greenpeople.co.uk)

The only thing you have to change with regards to acne, is what you put on the skin which is suspectable to acne (i.e face). A little mineral water to each and a little oil for a protective layer.

Thats it. Don't need to change soap/shampoo/deodrant/hair-products

Though you have to remember, anything that goes on your lips is likely to some small degree to go into your mouth and into your stomach.

Above post should read

"A little mineral water to wash and a little oil for a protective layer."

Basically I think our bodies don't really need anything (soap etc) besides some washing with water from time to time. Anything you want to use is then up to you. ;)

Because most of them are abrasive, so it removes the outer layer of the enamel. No tests so far have proven the need for a toothpaste for anything else than the taste/freshness feeling.

Why would you want to use one?

So a non-abrasive toothpase would be OK? Because I got one, and I like using it for the taste/
fresh feeling.

To not have bad breath?

Sure, that would be fine.

I think you'll notice any bad breath will disappear, except for right after eating egg yolks. Mouthwash kills micro-organisms in the mouth, which is what you don't want to happen.

I use Almond Oil from a food store. Only need about 2-3 drops.

Actually, in another thread it was said that even non-abrasive toothpaste coats your teeth in glycerine, which prevents re-mineralization of the enamel, and the recommended alternative was soap.

Personally I like it a lot, I had plaque and white spots on my teeth and unhealthy gums before I started using it and in about two months everything has improved so much. The taste takes some getting used to but I've discovered that you really only get the real bitter soapy taste if you try to swallow, so it's a matter of breaking that habit. It took me about a week.

I use their brightener too, since all that orange juice really does stain the teeth. It's a bit expensive for such a tiny jar though. You can use baking soda instead, but I think this works better.
