Re: Wai baby
Wow, congrats RRM! She's beautiful!
Re: Wai baby
RRM, what other cooked food (besides slow cooked meat) do they eat?
Re: Wai baby
Nothing.Emeira wrote:RRM, what other cooked food (besides slow cooked meat) do they eat?
Just juices all day plus some raw egg yolks, or raw salmon or slow cooked beef or -chicken.
Except that (4 mornings / week) they give Trix a rice cracker at school (they did not want to adhere to my request)

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then she faces strong opposition. Then she is considered to have been obvious.

Re: Wai baby
how long do you cook and at what temp.?RRM wrote:slow cooked beef or -chicken.
by the way, how your kids react, when they see other children eating candies, ice cream and other sweets (for example. during birthdays or other occasions)? Or even in supermarkets, usually colorful packaging attracts kids attention. Do they want to taste it?
Re: Wai baby
About 60°C, for about 3 hours (chicken) to 6 hours (beef/lamb with lots of connective tissue)Emeira wrote:how long do you cook and at what temp.?RRM wrote:slow cooked beef or -chicken.
Usually Trix says: "Look papa, bad food".how your kids react, when they see other children eating candies, ice cream and other sweets
They got some candy recently, and when they wanted to open it, i said that they were only allowed to play with it. (playing supermarket)
Then they accepted. After a while they forgot about it.
They have never asked for it in the supermarket.Or even in supermarkets, usually colorful packaging attracts kids attention.
Maybe because they dont know it.
Re: Wai baby
RRM do you mean a total of 3 hours for chicken or 3 hours at 60 degrees?
Re: Wai baby
I mean do you put the chicken in cold water and leave it in the pan until the water is ~60 degrees (which takes about 3 hours for me), or if you put the chicken in the pan when the water is 60-degrees, and leave it there for 3 hours?
Re: Wai baby
Yes.Mia wrote:I mean ... or if you put the chicken in the pan when the water is 60-degrees, and leave it there for 3 hours?
Thats it.
Re: Wai baby
Thank you RRM!
Re: Wai baby
Little message in Dutch:
RRM, als ik naar de slager gaat, wat zeg je dan ? Vraag je om soepvlees ? Ik weet niet hoe de stukken vlees heten die het beste in 60 graden kan "koken" (jij "kookt" het gewoon in water toch ?)

Re: Wai baby
Actually, i always go to the Islamic butchery. In many African cultures it is very common to prefer meat with lots of bone and connective tissue, as that gives much more flavor to the meat.
I guess the proper word for that kind of meat is "soepvlees", indeed.

Re: Wai baby
What about other kids, do they all naturally follows way warrior diet style? nothing in the morning and most of the food at mid day or before bed?Inspired by my (20 months old) daughter, who prefers to consume very little food/juice until right before going to sleep
How much juice do they drink at one sitting?
Re: Wai baby
My son generally also does not ask for food / juice in the morning.
Though occasionally he does.
My daughter eats more food during the day now (though not in the morning).
I think its largely inspired by my wife's (normal) eating pattern.
They usually drink about 100 to 200 ml in one sitting.
