I'm curious, two and a half years on, how did the mice go?RRM wrote:Thats the idea, yes. 3 groups of rats / mice; 1 group fed a 100% raw diet, the other 2 the cooked version of that same diet, with one of these groups supplemented with vitamins etc (so that the factor of 'lost nutrients due to cooking' is excluded)
First the osteoporosis experiment though.
The nature of monkey was... irrepressible!

Do you get headaches from all that secondhand smoke? Don't you think exposing oneself to secondhand smoke defeat the purpose of being on the Wai diet?RRM wrote:Yeah...
Or I die of lung cancer, for having been a waiter in a restaurant with lots of smoking guests, for many years...

No, i never did.Kookaburra wrote: Do you get headaches from all that secondhand smoke?
It never really bothered my physically, even though the smoke often was very 'thick';
as if you had to wade through it.
Looking back at it, it seems so ridiculous to smoke where other people eat...
Defeat?Don't you think exposing oneself to secondhand smoke defeat the purpose of being on the Wai diet?
If you mean that i can still get cancer, yes.
If you mean that the wai diet doesnt make any difference if you smoke, no.

Let's say I am at an outdoor restaurant with my family. I bring along OJ that I juiced. Since its an outdoor restaurant, there are customers who smoke around me. I wonder whether its safe to drink the OJ since secondhand smoke particles from the cigarettes will make its way to the juice and pollute it?
If I consume the juice, aren't I also ingesting all that cocktail of harmful chemicals? When the smoke particles react with the juice, does it change the juice molecules?

Just to make sure I understand, you are saying that the Wai diet doesn't make any difference if you smoke? What do you mean when you finish the sentence with "no"?RRM wrote:Defeat?Kookaburra wrote: Don't you think exposing oneself to secondhand smoke defeat the purpose of being on the Wai diet?

No, because its unlikely that those particles would precipitate in your juice.Kookaburra wrote:Let's say I am at an outdoor restaurant with my family. I bring along OJ that I juiced. If you are still worried: put a napkin over your bottle/glass.

Also, when I am at a restaurant, is it okay to use their bowls? After all, their bowls have been used to serve cooked dishes to hundreds of customers. I am afraid that I will be ingesting traces of the cooked food. Just like you shouldn't share needles, should you also not share bowls?
Re: tons of info about why not to drink it...
If you cannot see those traces, they are too small to have any impact on you.Kookaburra wrote:I am afraid that I will be ingesting traces of the cooked food.
If you can see them, you ask for a clean plate.
