low HDL & high eosinophils
I just got my blood test back and it turns out i'm low in HDL cholesterol 0.72 mmo1/L (recommended range: 0.9 - 1.55), and my eosinophils are through the roof at 18% of my blood (recommended: 0-3%). What does it all mean? What should I do?
Re: HDL Cholesterol & eosinophils
"An absolute eosinophil count is a blood test that measures the number of white blood cells called eosinophils. Eosinophils become active when you have certain allergic diseases, infections, and other medical conditions."
Re: HDL Cholesterol & eosinophils
i feel just fine though.
however, the blood test was taken at the end of a long stomach ache and constipation, could that be why?
do i need to do something about my HDL?

Re: low HDL & high eosinophils
i eat way more raw beef than fish or egg yolks. other than that just various fruits.
Re: low HDL & high eosinophils
You could try eating at least one egg yolk daily.
No health concerns?

Re: low HDL & high eosinophils
As far as I know that HDL value (a value for a transporter unit, which transports fats and cholesterol) is arbitrary, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Nevertheless it can't hurt to eat some (more) egg yolks, as RRM suggests.

Eating more fish will also be a smart move. http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/omega-3-000316.htm
Since we evolved on a diet high in omega 3s it would be good to make sure your omega 3 : omega 6 isn't too much out of whack by ingesting too much not grass fed beef and olive oil as opposed to fish.
