Thats true. We dont need to be active to be slim. How much fat your body retains depends solely on your energy balance; the difference between input and output; not on how high / great that output is; solely on its relation to input.
In other words: if you ingest more energy than utilized, you will gain fat. Regardless of how much you eat.
Also, if you ingest less energy than utilized, you will loose weight. Regardless of how much (and what) you eat.
If the psychological strain of daily exercise is too big (and it very readily is), you will start failing sooner or later, and then there is a huge risk of a collapse, weight-wise.
If there is not such a strain, its much easier to prevent such a collapse.
