Frustration!!!
Hi
I might be freaking out in vain, as I so often do, but It's day six on the stricter version of Wai's diet and I see no improvement.
My skin is maybe a tad less red, but I feel it's still horribly disfigured (I tend to exaggerate).
And I have not lost a single pound!
I read previous posts where skinnier people complain about their excess 1/4 of a pound and can't help but feel frustrated by the fact that I am 15 pounds overweight!
I'd practically kill sashimi everyday to be the weight that some of you complain about, and I'm A LOT shorter.
I have followed the diet to a T and I don't even like fruits!
But all I get is occasional fatigue and one time I almost fainted at a sushi place (what was that about, was my body freaking out over some raw fish? but I gulp sushi like air!). And I eat plenty and as prescribed, so I can't blame it for under-eating b/c I don't feel hunger, I'm usually full.
What am I doing wrong? I try so hard.....................................
And where's Wai anyways, these days?

Day six? Do you really expect to loose weight in only six days?
I have been on this diet for one year, is noticeably leaner
(I also lost some muscle mass due to not working out as much as
I used too) and still I am only like 3-4 kg lighter than one year ago.
The fatigue sounds like under eating, despite you feeling full and eating
"as prescribed". Could you perhaps make a list of what exactly you eat
in one day?
Wai? The male part of the Wai duo, RRM, are running these boards and
living in Amsterdam, according to himself. The female part is no longer
active here, and seems to wish no contact with her 'fans'
Please post a list of the foods you eat on a typical day, and
dont feel discouraged so soon!

thank you fictor, muchly, for tolerating my histrionics!
Now, I don't know if I should be relieved or more discouraged.
You've only lost 4kg in a year?!
My exceeding expectations of this diet are due to numerous testimonials
claiming it is possible to lose "too much weight too quickly" (8 days, a month, 2 weeks). But as I researched further into the elusive weight loss phenomenon I gravely deduced, that the already skinny are getting skinnier and the obese are staying that way!
Why is that?
I wasn't aware Wai's geniality was divided into bi-gendered parts!
I thought Wai was a pseudonym of s/o named Thijs Klompmaker.
http://www.thijsklompmaker.com/interview.htm
Either way, it's too bad she/he/it left without me getting a chance to burn their ear off with compliments/questions (and perhaps that's the reason behind it!).
ok, here's what I ate so far.
Morn: like a handful of strawberries, orange, cherries.
and right after some hand shelled macadamia nuts.
Lunch: cucumber + tomato salad. cold pressed olive oil, garlic, salt.
avocado.
Dinner: watermelon. apple. avocado.
and today I went to the supermarket and I broke down and bought some chocolate!
I thought it would help my deep depression, and it has.
but I feel bad for eating it :S
(it wasn't much, like 40g. 4 proteins)
Am I bad?! Will the diet gods smite me with their fat-inducing lightening!?
I have too much free time at work...
Now, I don't know if I should be relieved or more discouraged.

If you realy want to loose weight, it may help if you'd stop eating avocados, and start eating yolks. Avocado contains quite a lot energy, but they are only optional. It's not like you have to eat them. But yolks will realy help you in keeping up with this diet and resisting temptations.
When on this diet I do loose much weight. It doesn't take me a lot of effort, and I feel terrific. So some people might loose a lot of weight while others don't. But if you should loose weight and you don't overeat, you will loose weight. Just hang in there and be patience

thanks Iris!
sage advice!
I actually forgot to mention that I usually eat 2 yolks a day.
But I went on a sashimi binge a few days before so I stopped to balance it out.
And I have just weighed myself and I've lost 2 pounds so my panic has subsided. ^_^
I know it's silly to be so obsessed but I think it's the principle of the scale showing you're, even if slightly, lighter.
I wish there was a formula that worked for everyone but I guess there isn't.
regardless it's really helpful to talk to people who share a boat with you!

Yey, that's great you lost 2 pounds! See, and you're just 6 days going. You'll get there if you just hang in Believe me, it's absolutely worth it!
Just a thought.... if you have much free time at work, maybe you could go for a walk?? That helps too. It gives you energy, and for some reason you feel less hungry. And it burns fat

I just started again. Last year I did this too, and did pretty well, till for some reason I just decided to take some cooked food Still don't know why I did that... With me, it's just like alcoholics. When I'm off it, I should never take it again I guess, or else I'll crack. And the stupid thing is I don't even like eating it On the other hand I love fruit, yolks and salmon. But so I ate all the cooked stuff for some time again (and gained most of my lost weight back again ) And now I want to do it again, but now for good! The beginning is always a bit hard I think, no matter what diet you do. But I just keep telling myself "if you want to look like a model you've got to eat like a model" (don't have a clue what the average model eats, but hey, it works for me )
What I do daily? For work/study you mean? Or what I eat?
Usually I study during daytime. Not officially though, but I want to start a new study (nutrition and health or psychobiology) and in order to do so I have to pass some tests. And in the meanwhile I'm still recovering from the damage I have done to myself with my eating disorder and busy processing my childhood.... And, once I got the taste of it, I walk a lot. But just stated with that too, so now I still have to force myself
And my diet mainly consists of orange juice, apples/applejuice, mango's yolks (8 daily) and salmon (100-200 gr) (and olive oil of course). Sometimes some other fruits/fruitjuices.

wow, you're busy.
what do you mean you took some cooked foods?
you mean you were on the diet for so long without munch foods AT ALL?!
I think I would kill myself.
My problem is not sweets, it's not even bread or pasta. It's MEAT.
The fat, juicy, slightly pink flesh of a steak could drive me to ecstasy no man can... (ok, maybe one could )
So that's the hardest thing for me.
But I've decided to do this as my new year's resolution (and my last dinner was a prime rib! ah!!!!) and now I'm here.
Just curious, how old are you?
how much do you weigh, what's your height?
how long were you on the diet and how much did you lose?
I ask for selfish reasons of course.

struggeling to keep weight on, while more robust people cant get
it off fast enough, even on this diet. Probably, this has to do with this
persons metabolism, since one was skinny and one less skinny in the
first place, while both on a somewhat equally bad diet
That would be RRM, one of the moderators of this forum.ellen wrote: I wasn't aware Wai's geniality was divided into bi-gendered parts!

You eat WAY to little! You need to eat smaller meals than you would usually do, like 1-2 pieces of fruit (or a handfull of berries)ellen wrote: ok, here's what I ate so far.

at a time, and you need probably like 10 + "meals" a day. Also, salt
and garlic is a no-no when on the sample diet, you should try
a little fresh chives and/or lemon juice on the salad if it does not
taste good enough without.
Resisting temptations like this is easier ifellen wrote: and today I went to the supermarket and I broke down and bought some chocolate!
you controll your bloodsugar, by eating many small meals.
Is that even possible?! :Oellen wrote:I have too much free time at work...
Good luck, and keep us posted!
No, I have not tried steak tartar!
Are you serious? like raw, raw meat?
Is that even good for you?
Does Wai "premit" it?
And where would you go about getting one?
I bet French restaurants would! They have everything from frog legs to snails!
So from my understanding there is, in fact, a Wai, a woman who's involved in this project?
I'm completely confused.
Yes, I work at a well-off company where I get 0 supervision to do whatever I please in my cubicle. Maybe I’m too quick to finish my work,
But most of the time I'm bored stiff...
I know eating 10 meals a day is ideal, but it's so hard to get used to since
traditionally you're taught to eat 3. Besides I don't have time to eat that much, and I’ll probably forget to and eat like 5 at most.
Why are you on the diet, fictor?
Is it for weight loss?
oh, let me guess, cellulite? hahaha

Yes, raw meat is part of the diet.ellen wrote:No, I have not tried steak tartar!

Of course, most commonly raw fish, but you can also eat raw beef, if you like. Unfortunately, much 'raw' is not really raw in my experience.
I have even been eating raw chicken and raw turkey for over 10 years. Never with ill effects. Just make sure you find a reliable source. (here one supermarket is very reliable when it comes to properly checked chicken and turkey).
Yes. A good chef knows to pick good quality raw meat. And where would you go about getting one?

Also in (not all) japanese restaurants you can get raw beef.
You can also try a busy biological butcher (busy so that the turnover is big)
Just change your habits, and people get used to it.I know eating 10 meals a day is ideal, but it's so hard to get used to since traditionally you're taught to eat 3.
You just told us you have a lot of free time.Besides I don't have time to eat that much, and I’ll probably forget to and eat like 5 at most.
You only need to get used to it.
I work in a very busy restaurant and never have time 'for myself' but i can always have 2 or 3 seconds in between running to take a sip of juice. (thats a small meal)
thanks!
I guess I figured I eat a lot slower than I type
It just took me half an hour to eat half a grapefruit.
plus I have an attention span of a 3 year old child.
I get distracted A LOT.
but I whole heartedly trust in your advice! so i'll try my best.
are cherry tomatoes good enough? I've heard someone say they're not.
and i didn't get the whole suagr stabilizing business.
do i have to eat s/t fatty every time I eat a fruit?
how much? when?
so many rules!

Well, raw meat tastes pretty good... (and I've never been a "meat-lover"). I like it more than cooked/fried/grilled/.... meat. It doesn't have that nasty aftertaste. My problem is not sweets, it's not even bread or pasta. It's MEAT.

I'm 23. Don't know what I weigh now (I don't want to know, but I guess I'm 58 kg) I want to be at 50 cos then I feel my best. Height is 1.73 m. Lats time I did this "diet" my weight went down from 65 to 50 in about 8 months.... That's quite a lot isn't it?
