I avoid herbs-- it is amazing how many have high levels of plant-type hormones. This site lists many (in the context of women's hormonal disease):

Yes, plants in general, but herbs in particular contain such substances. Its exactly because of these active ingredients that people discovered they can have beneficial effects in certain circumstances, as medicines. Much the same as with medicines, you dont 'eat' them as a preventative measure; you only take them when sick, properly diagnosed and accurately prescribed given the specific condition it needs to treat. Its not food. Its drugs.

Some plants I would say are not medicinal even, but simply 'druglike' (excitatory or sedative) though they have been used as medicaments in this way, too...(viz. chocolate (tetrahydro-beta-carbolines and other substances that are addictive/druglike and probably without medical merit)....
