the poll
So, you think it might be possible to live forever physically? If you had to say one way or the other, which would you decide? Option #3 [No, it's not possible] could apply to you even if it does not specify that you believe in some sort of afterlife or reincarnation (not sure which one you believe). The question was only in reference to wanting to live forever physically, so that does not include beliefs of an afterlife or reincarnation. So according to what you have said, option number 3 would apply to if you if decided that you actually don't believe its possible to live forever physically. But you have said that that your not sure. But, I guess if you can't make up your mind about what you believe, there isn't an option that covers that like the option [I can't make up my mind]. I think that everyone generally can fall into one of those four categories even if they don't specify about believes in afterlife etc. That's not the purpose of the poll. And, I could have added the option [I can't make up my mind] but I feel that would defeat the purpose of this poll as well. I want people to make up their mind...
I think your options are lacking. What if you want to, but don't believe it's possible? Or if you don't want to, but do believe it's possible?
Then the question is a bit vague, because you don't specify if it's about one's current physical body, or any physical body, which makes a huge difference.
I'll give you some statements, so you can choose an option for me.
Yes, I think it's possible to live forever physically in a body.
No, I don't think it's possible in this body.
Maybe it would be possible in human form, but I'm not sure.
Yes I want to live forever, but since I believe that's already the case, there's nothing to be done.
No, I don't want to live forever in this body.

Oscar,
I thought the same thing.
Like saying "no, it is not possilble" seems like two things
Just becaues it is not possible doesn't mean no
I mean there are two issues, do you believe it is possible or not, and yes or no.
I don't think you'll find anyone who really believes you can live forever anyways.

I dont know if i want to.
I dont think its possible.
I think that living comes with learning, and that eventually you dont want to learn anymore; you have seen it all. and then you are ready to die, i guess.
So, i will answer this question once im done learning, but i guess then my answer will be "no". If i never get done learning, i guess my answer will be "yes". Either way, i dont think its possible.
Also, I dont think its about avoiding death, but getting ready for it.

...he not busy being born is busy dying,
Bob Dylan
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Dylan Thomas
I fight against stagnation and disinterest
for the mind silently ages
as the body in the mirror
its war loudly wages

Death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.

I'll be sure about the "other side", when and if I get there. Until then, all faith aside, the smart money's on the (mindfully) present situation.
The last bit of poetry I made up on the spot ( ), but I would prefer to remove the word 'must' from the first line.

Re: Who wants to live forever?
You know that being smart is believing in God, right? That is, according to Pascal.
God does not exist + Believe = OK
God does not exist + Not Believe = OK
God exists + Believe = OK
God exist + Not Believe = not OK
I took out 'must' for you.

Haha, that's nice
BTW, I agree with you that the present is the important time. The only experience is the present moment.

Is there a simple way to upload images?

I think the easiest way is to use a free image posting site, like Picasa, Photobucket, etc, and link to there.
