Of course we do.
I am relieved! :)

I did not mean to bee rude, btw. I just thought that you said you 'never washed your hands'. I did not get the 'before I prepare foods/eat'-part :)

Correct, that was what we said,
but all in relation to the title of this thread... 8)

washing hands

Post by summerwave »

Yes; I missed that too (and was joking in any case, as American restaurants post a little too selfconsciously "EMPLOYEES MUST WASH HANDS AFTER USING RESTROOM" signs all over customer restrooms, to send a good message to the customers).

I did not mean to imply you are not great at your job!

And if you are providing, discussing, etc. food in any way or form--

One more reason to come to Amsterdam! 8)

Well, i would be the last one to claim that my hands are always clean while im at work...
When its busy, my hands come in contact with all kinds of foods,
and i dont wash them in between transporting plates...
(unless the ketchup or mustard etc is all over my hands)

hygiene

We have this wonderful romantic notion (in the U.S.) that Europeans are earthy, relaxed people who are cooler than we are with things like dirt, or mess, or bacteria...

Don't destroy my illusion.

Yes.
Hey Oscar, I am a violinist, too. I usually wash my hands before playing the violin actually. And before playing in concert I want to brush my teeth. It feels wrong otherwise.

Wow a colleague! :D
I don't have such urges ;)
Besides, brushing teeth is more for wind players ;)
