Re: Getting really low body fat
Yes it's very easily possible, I'm well below 10% and I don't really like it because without significant muscle mass it makes you look like starved..
As long as you're eating properly and not forcing it I believe it's perfectly fine regarding health.

Re: Getting really low body fat
I have bodyfat below 10% as well.
More importantly, on this diet there will be much less water retention,
and this very often water retention that messes up muscle definition.
Many people with low bodyfat still have poor muscle definition due to water retention.
Also, you need to keep fiber intake at minimum levels, to prevent bloating / getting a belly from fermented fiber.
If you want to maintain low bodyfat together with some muscle mass,
you need to ingest small amounts of energy very frequently, throughout the day.
That way no excess energy gets stored as bodyfat, and yet breakdown of muscles for energy is also prevented.
I drink about 2.5L of orange juice (+ sugar and a few drops of oil) each day,
plus 0.5L banana juice (from the juice extractor, not blender).
Besides that i eat about 300 grams of salmon / egg yolks daily.
Occasionally an avocado, and some mango- or grape-juice instead of OJ.

Re: Getting really low body fat
Yes I sip all day long. It's a lot about the water retention too.
50 oz is fine, you could add some sugar or honey too if you feel like it's not enough.

Re: Getting really low body fat
whats the biggest reason for excess water retention?
thanks im going to try lots of OJ

Hard-to-decompose proteins ('dirty protein') from cooked foods.bbmine wrote:whats the biggest reason for excess water retention?
Salts, sugars and protein are all hydrophylic, but the levels for salts and sugar are far more tightly controlled than that of proteins,
so that the levels for proteins may increase much more, enabling water retention caused by high protein levels.
Re: Getting really low body fat
I';m not concerned with acne my skin is clear... My goal is just to become healthier in general but also to become lean and strong (think brad pitt fight club)
now most mainstream fitness now says to avoid fruit which seems crazy but there could be some logic there...
If someone's goal was only to get lean would you still recommend a fruit based diet with animal proteins?

Absolutely.bbmine wrote:If someone's goal was only to get lean would you still recommend a fruit based diet with animal proteins?
The best combination is fruit juices (without the fiber) and animal protein.
That is how i got so lean (with great muscle definition).
Re: Getting really low body fat
thanx RRM.. im going to try it out and see how it works...focusing mostly on oj,coconut oil, meat and probably some milk.
Re: Getting really low body fat
Milk?
Milk contains lactose and substance P, which both increase intestinal membrane permeability,
so that larger molecules are absorbed, such as peptides, which are potentially more water-retaining than free amino acids.

Re: Getting really low body fat
I'm going to try to follow the diet as much as I can.. it's going to be tough to give up milk since I have easy access to lots of raw grass fed milk products... I'll try to slowly reduce my milk consumption

Good luck. Keep us posted.
