Sleep & wake, Aytundra's experiment.
Experiment:
I thought fiber and proteins before sleep caused me to be tired in the morning.
So I had purposely moved all my proteins, and majority of fibers to early in the morning, on Sept 19 (5.3.38), and Sept 20 (5.4.39).
But I had a regular sugar intake on Sept 19 (5.3.38) and a reduced sugar intake on Sept 20 (5.4.39); other food items were close to my past few weeks' of average types and amounts of fruits and meat items.
Results:
From the foods on Sept 21, 2014, I had a good sleep, and I woke up feeling "Nice" the next morning.
And, I definitely felt much better compared to the low calorie day of Sept 20.
Normal wake-up time though, I slept at 12 and woke at 8.
The few spoons of grounded / powdered almonds, which was a minor source of protein did not mess-up with my sleep & wake quality.
From the foods on Sept 20, 2014, (5.4.39), I woke up at 5-ish and felt tired-ish. (goal is to wake up early and feel great-ish).
I went to bed early at 8:00 pm, but was kind of hungry even before falling asleep, I think I really slept at 10 pm.
From the foods on Sept 19, 2014, (5.3.38), I woke up at 7 (1 hour earlier than normal); slept at 10 pm the night before.
Discussion:
This means that a tired-ish wake up is not mainly due to eating proteins or fiber before sleep; Calories can probably play a role there too.
It is probably most likely due to not enough calories distributed around my body during sleep.
(or in the case of eating large meals before bed, or eating fiber {like in rice}***, or eating lots of protein before sleep, could have probably drawn energy to the stomach to digest food at night which may have caused less calories for overall sleep quality.)
***{I had definitely felt better switching {knocking out rice} to this diet on most days, and felt mediocre on some days in the past 1.5-2 months (Note: Wai days were not consecutive. Some days were not Wai. As noted on diary entries.), so I wanted to know exactly what factors made it better for my sleep & wake quality. If I had woken up and felt sluggish all day on every day of my first week of Wai days, like the tired-ish feeling on Sept 21, then obviously it would not have been that easy for me to switch to this diet.}
Tentatively^^^ Concludes:
Keeping foods liquid or eating less solid foods before sleep, means an early wake-up.
Eating enough calories before sleep, means a good energy filled body on waking.
^^^I will still keep testing, these are only a few days of trials.
Disclaimer:
There are experimenter's bias here (a bit pro-Wai, but rebellious aytundra and cooked foods aytundra have not intruded yet.), and this is not double blinded (I am experimenting on myself), and anecdotal responses are here (aytundra says), and these are not repeated designs (there are not enough days of repeated exact food scenarios), or blocked trials (interference from accumulated days of healthy eating), so please read lightly (all experimental results in my diary applies to me only.).

September 22, 2014 Rule Breaking Version adds not Wai items( - 1.3.3) {Disappointed! - raw aytundra}
6 tbsp almond, 6 tbsp sugar
4 tomatoes, 3tbsp almond, 3 tbsp sugar
500ml oj = 4 oranges + 3 tbsp sugar + 3 yolks + 1tsp oo
70g farmed salmon
4 tomatoes, 3tbsp almond, 3 tbsp sugar
80g wild salmon + 1 yolk
5 pieces of left-over cooked-reheated pork dumplings*~~^^^
---
* Looks like i need to increase calories.
~~ Raw aytundra did not buy anything, but I have access to cooked foods and packaged or containerized foods if I really wanted them. Sept 21's pistachios were also a packaged food, apparently I was right on not putting a Wai counter notation there, as most pistachios sold are roasted / heated, hence not a Wai item.
^^^I woke up at 8:30. Felt a little tired-ish on waking.
Tired-ish, I'll describe the feeling as: it is the conciousness of fighting through layers of skin and muscles that feels like it has a layer of gloomy slumbering heavy sleep spell, unwilling to wake up or to stretch, I can feel my conciousness trickle in and release muscle tension or skin tension here and there, but not as quick as waking on some other days when I have all the "proper" foods timed properly.

*Gazes into crystal ball, bets there will be a new pimple.
Note:
Currently no pimple, as in my previous days' pimples are all gone;
I define gone as in no bumps, no pus and no dry scabs.
They are still a bit pink or light brown with coloration, but from my experience (on cooked foods) skin coloration from pimples can take weeks to disappear, so I will consider these pimples gone, although there may still be residual coloration.
Anyways, so far I am happy with the fact that the pimples I obtained in the past few weeks did not come back like a zombie,
you know those types of pimples that appear and then disappear and reappear at the exact same spot with pus,
(but, maybe I am counting chickens too early before they hatch).
So, so far, so good, in terms of the folklore that surrounds this diet on making things disappear.

Re: Aytundra's Diary (not Wai diet)
September 27, 2014 Rule Breaking Version adds not Wai items(-1.4.4)
24:00-7:30 Good Sleep, and woke up early too; had a language visual dream.
{In the dream, I was sorting food items based on pictographs and colours {and of course the mind is already infected with differentiating if foods are Wai or not in sleep; Eating Wai items are so easy, jokes "I can even pick out Wai items in my sleep."}, it was in either Chinese or Japanese characters: the irony is that: fish = fried because of the four teardrop shapes of fire, orange = contained beans and blue "F" s, and rice is different from wheat) {if I went on this diet in a different language, maybe fish orange would be logically off limits; like how I eliminated blue worded food items.}
Anyways I thought it was amusing. I don't get amusing dreams a lot, but if eating healthy does that...maybe I will stick to eating healthier, but I broke rules again today...
8:00 2 tomatoes + 6 egg whites
9:00 1 tomato + 2 tbsp sugar
Samples, oo, oo, oo, vinegar, oo, with pieces of garbage bread.
1 chocolate chip granola bar {One of my favourite snacks that I grew up on, my teeth felt strange sinking into chewiness (have not really chewed chewy things for a while), it felt like the texture of one of those ugly protein bars.}
19:30 1 tomato, 600mL OJ = 6 oranges
then I added 0.25 cooked rice, 1 piece of pan fried fish paste on green pepper.
20:30 100g wild salmon sans brown
22:30 3 yolks, oilsands = 3 tbsp sugar + 1 tbsp oo
24:00-8:30 Normal sleep, no pimples from the junk.
---
I thought I would get pimples because the fish had a strange aftertaste from the brown, I can only describe it as a fishy aftertaste on the tongue.
But the most awful tasting food item, I've had so far was the generic supermarket evoo.
I took the oil plain, I had been mixing it in juice to mask the taste for the past few weeks, but yesterday I took apart my dinner and ate each item solo on its own (even sugar; which tasted very sweet); That spoon of oo after plain sugar (probably sharpened contrast of tastebuds), was very plant bitter, and had a spice that almost tasted evil.
So today I went to a supermarket that had samples of high end pricy olive oil, and taste tested a range;
Their most mild brand of oo tasted somewhat green apple grass flavoured (still not prefered by me), while one of the spicier oo actually tasted like the generic brand I have at home with very plant bitterness. I stocked with avoo instead (bland no flavour to me, and affordable compared to the pricy high-end oo).

September 27, 2014 Rule Breaking Version adds not Wai items(-1.5.5) {Raw aytundra: "is beyond disappointed, she is anguished."Goes all the way to being S.A.D.}
250ml water
1tbsp sugar packet
1tbsp sugar, 45g of raw almonds
1tbsp sugar
250ml water {Well, raw aytundra tried, but luck has to end somewhere.}
3 pieces of pan fried cheese perogies, with sour creme, 1 cup water, 1 bread roll, 2 tsp of butter, roasted chicken thigh (not fried), lots of french fries and >10 tbsp ketchup, 1 spoon of mashed potatoes, 4 tbsp vanilla icecream with whipped cream and butterscotch sauce.

Of course we can say she was stranded in the middle of nowhere (she kinda was),
and the restaurant only had garbage to offer (which is not true they have salads).
She could have done a dining performance of tomatoes and cucumbers,
or asked for oranges (but, I think the restaurant would only return with orange soda/pop),
but we all know aytundra is not a salad fan, nor is she familiar with the techniques of Wai style in a restaurant (though it might be amusing...).
Of course we also know that she has inoculated herself with reading articles (perhaps not enough).
To break rules is one thing.
To break rules beyond breaking rules is another.
All she can say is perhaps she can now feel that she can probably sympathize somewhat with others that are trying to break a bad habit.
It is awfully difficult, breaking S.A.D.
-----
As I sat in the backseat of the car ride home, consciously fighting off myself from nodding off to sleep,
I realized, I have bounced from task to task for the past few weeks, as in excellent mental energy; and not this "nodding off" nonsense.
Although juicing and eating fruits might be time consuming
(and others complain I take hours on oranges* and tomatoes** {actual = 15**to 40*min with clean up}),
it is actually not that time expensive as compared to eating S.A.D.,
because, after people eat S.A.D., most people I've observed prefer to sit (mindlessly; tv) and/or sleep after a voluminous amount of food.

In terms of junk food taste I can't really comment today, I had these eye drops in my eyes (eye exam) that were giving me a weird taste after 13:00.
But taste aytundra found them delicious, raw aytundra felt mindfully ill about the food choice (oh well at least she chose not fries and not hotdogs...)}
9:30 800ml oj = 8 oranges
13:30 1 banana
17:00 1 banana, 3 tbsp sugar + 250ml water, 40g almonds
20:00 2 tbsp sugar
20:30 2 slices of chicken quesadillas* = 1 tortilla bread, mozzerella cheese (15 tbsp?), 1 tbsp green peppers, onions, tomatoes, + sour-creme dip
23:00 4 small tomatoes
00:30-7:15 Sleep
2 pimples from Sept 29, are scabbing.

Re: Aytundra's Diary (not Wai diet)
The past week has been a bit of a rocky storm in aytundra's brain.
I maintained the Wai diet theoretically; when my solid blanket statement got blown, I started questioning sugar/calories prior to counter Version 7.
My blanket statement: {All cells have membranes, membranes contain fats and proteins, cholesterol might be on all cells, so cooking cells are bad.
Exception is egg whites. Egg whites have no cholesterol, egg whites can be cooked.} imo (in my opinion)
Reading JeffC's posts:
RRM said potatoes don't have much oxysterols. viewtopic.php?f=37&t=3549&start=45
Aytundra thinks I can cook potatoes now?
Raw aytundra protests and imagines all excuses possible.
She now has a new blanket statement:
Cooking heat sensitive vitamins are bad. All cells might contain water soluble vitamins. imo
Potato starch? Egg whites?
Egg whites riboflavin can survive heat. So egg whites can still be cooked. imo
Potato starch should theoretically be chains of glucose. So potato starch can be cooked. imo
I will introduce potato starch to my menu for calories, in either formats of raw or cooked.
I will drink potato starch in (cold or hot) water, like in dime's post on resistant starch. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3547&p=38995&hilit ... rch#p38995
I will keep oj (for water soluble vitamins) and sugar and oils, probably the same as current amounts.
Now we have JeffC's article to read and that might overthrow fruits.viewtopic.php?f=37&t=3549&start=60
But because I have not finished reading the article on fructose, however dehydrated fructose becoming hydroxymethylfurfural does not amuse me...
Anyways, I will keep fruits (for water soluble vitamins) and carry on with: Version 8 = potatostarch + avocado (for calories).

Re: Aytundra's Diary (not Wai diet)
October 3, 2014 Rule Breaking Version adds not Wai items(-1.8.8 )
24:00-8:45 sleep and wake was not good this morning. Not a refreshing sleep. I think the avocado zapped my energy, maybe the avocado's fiber or fat. Testing avocado again tonight. But I really like the look of skin after avocado day, it looks so smooth after eating avocado.
9:00-10:00 80g wild salmon steamed, 1 avocado, 4 small tomatoes + 3 tbsp sugar
16:00 800ml oj = 8 oranges
20:30 2 x 2 x 1 cm of fish paste, 1 cooked shrimp
21:45 2 avocados
22:30 3 tomatoes
2 pimples from Sept 29, gone.
1 pimple from Oct 1, dry scab.
