in a picture may appear very different depending on multiple photographic factors.
You're completely right about that. Some days I feel like my hands are at their 'normal' color. But other days, I just look at my hands and, jesus christ, I am turning yellow!
RRM wrote:What do you eat to get over 7000 mcg/day? Carrot juice?
Hmm, I have my journal... . Actually, I did some blood tests, I would be very grateful if you could check them
But carrots seem to not belong to the Wai Diet, so I don't eat them of course :P

So if a person drinks 4L OJ and eats 12 Egg Yolks a day, for example, that person doesn't get over 7000 mcg/day?
I eat some Tomatoes and Mangos every other day... Could that be the reason?

Where are they?

No.
That would result in 2000 mcg vitamin A and 1557 mcg beta-carotene
I eat some Tomatoes and Mangos every other day... Could that be the reason?
Regarding tomatoes: To get the same amount of energy, one would (besides 12 yolks) have to eat 8.5 kg tomatoes,
which would yield 6433 mcg vitamin A and 175 mcg beta-carotene.

Mango may contain much more vitamin A and beta-carotene though.
Consuming only mango and 12 egg yolks (yielding the same amount of energy),
would yield over 12000 mcg vitamin A and over 32000 mcg beta-carotene.
So, yes, consuming mango every other day will give a big boost to your intake of both vitamin A and beta-carotene.

So, tomatoes doesn't have that much vitamin A nor beta-carotene? Herm, I always thought that they had plenty of it. Like for example Watermelons too, because of their red color

Well, I think I found the culprit then... And the same goes for Papaya, right?

Tomatoes contain lycopene, 3000 mcg/100 g.
Watermelons contain lycopene, 4900 mcg/100 g.
Lycopene makes these two fruits look red in colour.

Carrots, pumpkin, oranges, papaya, contain beta-carotene, and that makes them look orange in colour.

Yeah, I searched about lycopene. Then, I was baited: for example, according to the Wai Calculator,

1000g Watermelon have
Vitamin A, IU................................3660.00000IU .............?IU
Vitamin A, RE.................................370.00000mcg_RE ....375.00mcg_RE
Total carotenoids............................7950.00000mcg ............?mcg
-beta-carotene...............................2450.00000mcg ............?mcg

And

1000g Oranges have
Vitamin A, IU................................1830.00000IU .............?IU
Vitamin A, RE.................................180.00000mcg_RE ....375.00mcg_RE
Total carotenoids.............................876.00000mcg ............?mcg
-beta-carotene................................442.20000mcg ............?mcg

However, here:
http://www.waiworld.com/waidiet/items/watermelon.html
http://www.waiworld.com/waidiet/items/oranges.html

It seems that watermelon doesn't have that much (Total) Carotenoids after all...

Now show me tomatoes.
Do tomatoes have more lycopene or beta-carotene and carotenoids?

According to Wai Calculator, none it seems
1000g Tomatoes
Vitamin A, IU................................6230.00000IU .............?IU
Vitamin A, RE.................................620.00000mcg_RE ....375.00mcg_RE
Total carotenoids...............................0.00000mcg ............?mcg
-beta-carotene..................................0.00000mcg ............?mcg

However, according to here http://www.waiworld.com/waidiet/items/tomatoes.html

Tomatoes have 3 mg per 300 g, which means, 5 mg per 500 g.

They have a less
lycopene...................................30000.00000mcg ............?mcg

Watermelon
lycopene...................................49000.00000mcg ............?mcg

But I got it now. Mangoes are the 'winners'

1000g Mangoes
Vitamin A, IU...............................38940.00000IU .............?IU
Vitamin A, RE................................3890.00000mcg_RE ....375.00mcg_RE
Total carotenoids...........................12500.00000mcg ............?mcg
-alpha-carotene...............................370.00000mcg ............?mcg
-beta-carotene..............................11600.00000mcg ............?mcg

I have to essentially avoid mangoes for a while. And continuing with only OJ won't be such a problem after all. Maybe it will slow the process a bit though...

Checking this again, Watermelon, ok, it has lycopene which give its red color. However, it still has more beta-carotenes than Oranges... Oh well, if I start investing on Watermelons, it won't help me for sure to 'unyellow' myself.

The calculator has different sources and neither are 100% complete.
Some nutrients are not listed for some foods by one source, and only by the other, or by neither.
A "missing item" means that for this food no values of that nutrients are given.
This "0.0", does therefore NOT mean that it contains none of that nutrient (eg lycopene); just that it simply does not list that nutrient for given food..

Yes, I understood that.

"You're completely yellow, are you sick?" ; "Omg, you are orange! Have you done some blood tests?" ; "Have you ever heard about Jaundice? Can I check your eyes?" ; "Are you ok? Aren't you anemic?" ; "Wow, what happened to you? You are yellow! Is your liver ok?" ; "What have you been eating?" ; "You should see a doctor. That color is not normal." ; "Are you sick? Do you feel ok?" ; (...) and it goes on.

This is basically my routine when I meet people.
Seriously... That's why I was thinking about drinking another type of juice instead of only OJ. At least to 'stabilize' my color skin. OJ is much more practical though... but I can't really have a conversation with people without talking about my skin. The problem is that affects my mood. I'm easily influenced by what they say and I feel afraid if I am really sick. Of course, since I am experience all those palpitations and difficulties on breathing doesn't help at all. I can say that I don't feel completely confident and stable to just ignore or to easily hear what people say to me knowing that I am actually having some difficulties.

I tried to take some pictures today, but it is as RRM said: I take two pictures of my hands, for example, with two different lights and they are completely different regarding the color of my skin.
The spots where I am more orange are my soles and the palm of my hands.

RRM, can you clarify me a bit how vitamin A works?
My question is: if a diet is full of vitamin A and no beta-carotene, you body will use the vitamin A that you ingest first than it's own beta-carotene. Does this makes sense?
So, if I want to clear a bit this yellowish skin, not only I have to remove beta-carotenes from the foods I eat but also the vitamin A, right?
