No raw oils? Why not? The taste or something else?

The taste, texture and thought of them uncooked makes me cringe. What's a natural source that our monkey friends would enjoy? :P

Hmm, are you sure you wouldn't want to try olive oil or coconut oil? When you're used to have olive oil as a dressing over fruit (billions of people use it as a salad dressing), you'll miss it when it's not there, and it definitely adds a smooth silkiness to the texture.

Anyway, if not, you could use raw (brazil) nuts (which you do at the moment), or avocado, or some raw animal fat.

I guess you'll have to see/check if you're getting enough fats this way.

Yup I could try adding in more nuts then I guess. Not tried coconut oil, that might be an idea. Is it readily available or do I need to make it myself?

Here it's available in healthfood stores, not sure if that's the case where you live.

careful, most coconut oils aren't raw.
Nutiva is the cheapest raw one.

Fats you could use:

avocado yummy
fresh coconut put through a juicer which comes out as a very fatty cream (gorgeous)
coconut oil
olive oil
egg yolks

I absolutely love putting olive oil or coconut oil (warm until liquid) on my fruits. For some fruits, like apples and avocado, a touch of honey makes it even better.

I've been neglecting my fresh coconut in the fridge, I don't find it appealing unless with dried fruits (which I no longer do, besides reconstituted plums). I gotta try that juicer trick. Any juicer good, I have Omega 8005 (with single auger), will that work? Sounds delish! What does it combine well with? Maybe banana, mmm red bananas....

mm bananas. absolutely. and strawberries.

I've only done it with a greenstar but apparantly any single or twin gear juicer....
